I'm sure you've seen Michelle Obama do her infamous "fist bump" all over the campaign trails to hanging with the ladies at The View. But the cover of The New Yorker has taken it to a new extreme. He she is with Sen. Obama sporting an afro and an AK-47, fist bumping him while he dons a turban on his head. The icing on the cake for me is the American flag burning in the fire place (i couldn't get a big enough picture, its to the bottom right of the page.)
The Obama campaign states “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree."
And I agree. This is our future president people wtf? Gossip .
The editor of The New Yorker, David Remnick, claims this is a satire, that they are making fun of all the rumors.
